Oshyn Release Manager
OpenText Web Solutions (aka RedDot) can be quite complex to migrate. We’re not just talking about content, we’re talking about the content classes, workflows and other configuration packages…
Oshyn’s extensive RedDot experience dates back to far before OpenText Corporation acquired and renamed the software OpenText Web Solutions (OTWS). Over the years and through many projects, we witnessed first-hand the complexity of migrating from environment to environment. The complex OTWS migration adds significant development time to projects along with possibilities for errors which both contribute to costs. Typically OpenText Web Solutions requires working within multiple environments. You may experience issues keeping these multiple environments in sync, particularly as you release new templates, content classes, workflows and projects. Native OpenText Web Solutions tools are normally not sufficient to keep your QA, Staging, Production and other environments synchronized with the latest code and configurations. To improve the time to release new changes and confidence in the performance of new release changes from QA to production, Oshyn developed the Release Manager.
Oshyn's Solution
In order to reduce time and potential human error, Oshyn’s OpenText Web Solutions (OTWS) developers used their extensive experience to create the Release Manager. The Release Manager allows you to keep your multiple environments up-to-date with the latest code and allows you to easily release them from your development environment to your test environment. Content Management and Release Management are tricky to do in OTWS or RedDot CMS and Oshyn's Release Manager is the ultimate solution. Upon installation of the tool, OpenText developers can quickly identify sections of content classes, workflows and other configuration packages to migrate with the efficiency of a few clicks.
The Oshyn Release Manager migrates:
Users – Users of the selected server
Groups – User groups of the selected server
Content Classes – Content Classes (Templates) of the selected project
Categories and Keywords – Categories and Keywords of the selected project
Workflows – Workflows of the selected project
Authorizations – Authorization Packages of the selected project.
